Feb 14, 2014 (newstodate): Of Sweden's three largest cargo airports, only one managed to generate positive growth in 2013.
Stockholm Arlanda Airport thus saw its volumes up by one percent, y-o-y, to 129,653 tonnes. The airport came off to a weak start of the year, but volumes re-bounced after the summer season and were up 4.7 percent, y-o-y, during the latter part of the year.
The second-largest airport in terms of cargo volumes, Gothenburg Landvetter Airport was severely hit by capacity decreases through 2013, and the year ended with a decline by 8.7 percent, y-o-y, to 76,014 tonnes.
#3 in cargo volumes, Malmo Sturup Airport was hit the most in the Top-3 league, with volumes down 10 percent to 22,217 tonnes in 2013.
Together, the three airport thus dropped 3.6 percent, y-o-y, to 227,884 tonnes in 2013.
