Feb 18, 2014 (newstodate): The Swedish airline Saab AB has added one more aircraft to its fleet - not surprisingly a SAAB aircraft..
The Danish turboprop lessor Nordic Aviation Capital has sold one of its SAAB 2000 aircraft to Saab AB that already owns "a handful of aircraft" in it fleet.
Saab AB received its own AOC as well as an operating license in August 2013, allowing it to operate as a commercial carrier.
The carrier does not, however, intend to launch commercial passenger transportation.
-Within the Saab Group are a handful of aircraft supporting the Group's activities, Helene Lindstrand, Media Relations Manager, Saab Press Centre Group Communications, earlier told newstodate.
-Establishing an airline will allow us to manage this fleet cost-efficiently, but we certainly do not intend to launch an airline for any other purposes than this. With our own AOC we can, however, stretch the use of our aircraft beyond strict Group-related missions, and this is the basic idea behind Saab AB, said Ms Lindstrand.
