Feb 26, 2014 (newstodate): Russia's top-5 cargo carriers grew their joint share in the country's air cargo industry further in January 2014.
Together, AirBridgeCargo, Aeroflot, Transaero, Volga-Dnepr and S7 Sibir Airlines accounted for 80.9 percent of all cargo on Russian carriers in January, against 76.1 percent in January 2013.
The Top-5 carriers thus lifted a total of 54,245 tonnes of cargo during the month against 53,453 tonnes in January 2013.
ABC was up 15.1 percent, y-o-y, to 35,273 tonnes, Aeroflot was down 16.8 percent due to the abolition of cargo flights, to 9,692 tonnes, Transaero was up 16.5 percent to 4,065 tonnes, Volga-Dnepr was down 49 percent to 2,765 tonnes, and S7 was up 8.9 percent to 2,450 tonnes.
In total 35 Russian carriers transported a total of 66,129 tonnes of cargo in January 2014, which was a decline by 1.3 percent, y-o-y.
