Feb 14, 2014 (newstodate): Cargo volumes were slightly down at Sweden's Orebro Airport in 2013.
A total of 30,000 tonnes of cargo and mail was handled at the airport, a drop by six percent, y-o-y.
Of the total volume, roughly one-third was flown cargo while the other two-thirds was carrier on trucks.
Ad-hoc charter operations, in earlier days primarily driven by Ericsson, are still important to the airport, but the volumes has dropped year by year and now mostly comprise relief flights and military operations in support of Sweden's international missions.
Starting from September 2013, Post Sweden has introduced postal flights between Orebro and Arlanda operated by Amapola, and this operations has since gained further momentum from February 2014 when three more routes were added operated by Amapola with West Atlantic and Farnair as sub-contractors.
