Feb 12, 2014 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic has now officially revealed plans for the new Baltic bus service as reported by newstodate already last week.
Starting from March 1, 2014, airBaltic will offer a free bus service linking Riga Airport to the central bus stations in Valmiera, Jekabpils, Jelgava and Daugavpils in Latvia, Tartu in Estonia, and Siauliai in Lithuania.
The buses will run according to a set schedule synchronized with airBaltic flight arrival and departure times, offering connections to airports in Europe, the Middle East and Russia and the CIS.
After booking their airBaltic flights, customers can then request the free bus service on the airBaltic website.
The move by airBaltic is a further attempt to firm up the grasp on the Baltic region by promoting Riga Airport as the key hub in region, competing against Estonian Air as well as Air Lituanica.
More regional centers in the Baltic region will be connected to the bus service in the time ahead.
