Feb 03, 2014 (newstodate): Denmark's Billund Airport came off to a rather nice start in cargo volumes, driven by a sustained growth in export volumes.
In January 2014, the airport handled a total of 4,900 tonnes of cargo, an increase by 1.2 percent, y-o-y.
Exports were up by 14.2 percent, y-o-y, to 3,111 tonnes, while imports were still slow with a decline by 15.6 percent, to 1,789 tonnes.
So despite the additional 386 tonnes of export cargo in January, the net growth was only a meager 56 tonnes!
