Febg 19, 2014 (newstodate): Estonian Air has found new supplementary business in Sweden to keep its fleet busy.
Vxj Smland Airport in Sweden has contracted Estonian Air to serve the route between Vxj and Amsterdam starting from May 2014 and offering eight weekly rotations in a code-share with KLM.
Estonian Air will serve the route with 76-seater Embraer 170, and the commercial agreement is valid for one year.
With its current finely tailored route network, the carrier has two aircraft in excess, one of which has already been placed with ACS in Birmingham to offer charter and ACMI services in the European market.
-The agreement with Vxj Smland Airport gives Estonian Air a very good possibility to utilize the second of its two surplus aircraft capacity with low risk, and it is of course convenient to operate to Amsterdam since we do operate the same destination from Tallinn, says Jan Palmer, Estonian Air CEO.
Estonain Air is serving its regular flight network with five aircraft to Stockholm, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Brussels, Oslo, Moscow, Munich, St Petersburg, Kiev, Vilnius and Trondheim.
