Feb 26, 2014 (newstodate): Denmark's Copenhagen Airport has now published figures on its air cargo performance in 2013, showing an over-all increase by 1.9 percent, y-o-y.
A total of 360,991 tonnes of cargo and mail was handled, including trucked shipments, against 354,269 tonnes in 2012.
The bulk of the volumes consist of transfer cargo that accounted for 255,173 tonnes, up 2.4 percent, y-o-y, reflecting the airport's significance as a prime hub in the Nordic and Baltic region.
Import volumes were 46,290 tonnes, up 2.3 percent, while exports were down 0.4 percent 59,527 tonnes.
Proportionally, the share of transfer cargo thus increased in 2013 from 70.4 to 70.7 percent, import cargo's share remained unchanged at 12.8 percent, while the share of export cargo was down to 16.5 percent against 16.9 percent in 2012.
The performance in 2013 thus did not measure up to the preceding year, 2012, when volumes increased by 6.4 percent, y-o-y.
