Behind the venture is the state- owned National Welfare Fund, Samruk-Kazyna that is also holding the stakes in the country's international airline Astana as well as other public service providers.
The new carrier will be set up with 10 Bombardier Q400NG aircraft, with Bombardier taking a stake in the joint-venture.
Air Kazakhstan will be legally registered this summer, and orders for the new aircraft will follow soon.
