Dec 22, 2014 (newstodate): Finnair may soon feel another effect from the rising turbulence in world politics and the fragile Russian economy.
The Russian Rouble has been in free fall over the last months and with this comes a drop in air fares, paid in foreign currency.
Finns may thus benefit from the proximity to Russia and can now buy a ticket with a Russian carrier from St Petersburg to Bangkok for what corresponds to 360 euro, compared to Finnair's air fares starting from 1,200 euro.
