Dec 12, 2014 (newstodate): In its latest revision of the airline Black List, published on December 11, 2014, one new country has been placed on the ban: Libya.
All airlines registered in Libya, without exception, are placed on the no-fly list prohibiting them from entering any airport in the EU.
In a commentary, the EU Commission says that recent events in Libya have led to a situation where the Civil Aviation Authority is unable to fulfill its international obligations in the field of aviation safety.
The airlines affected are Afriqiyah Airlines, Air Libya, Buraq Air, Ghadames Air Transport, Global Aviation and Services, Libyan Airlines, and Petro Air.
