Dec 17, 2014 (newstodate): The Kyrgyz carrier Air Manas is determined in its efforts to be lifted off EU's Black List.
As an important step, the carrier has this week become the first airline in Kyrgyzstan to achieve ISO 9001 certification comprising its quality management system.
Next step for the airline will be to seek IOSA certification in September 2015 following an audit comprising the application of more than 900 standards and practices in daily operating activity.
The IATA Operational Safety Audit, IOSA, program is an internationally recognised and accepted evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airline.
With these certifications in place, the airline would qualify for a positive evaluation by EU allowing it to be deleted from the Black List by the end of next year.
Set up in 2006, Air Manas carried out its first flight in December 2009 and in June 2012, 49 percent of the stake was bought by Turkey's Pegasus Airlines.
