Dec 17, 2014 (newstodate): Despite the general downturn in Sweden's economic performance in 2014, Sweden's Jonkoping Airport has still seen sound progress in 2014.
Passenger volumes in the charter segment will exceed 66,000 this year, an increase by 74 percent, y-o-y, and the best result since 1978.
During the first 11 months of this year, air cargo volumes through the airport are up by seven percent, y-o-y, to 3,165 tonnes and growing 12 percent during the period July-November alone.
The volume of mail at Jonkoping Airport was 779 tonnes during the period.
After Post Sweden's decision from July 1, 2012, to lay down Jonkoping Airport as a "mini-hub", the airport has seen its postal volumes down to some 20 percent against 2/3 before that.
