Dec 19, 2014 (newstodate): Finnair has divested of three Embraer 170 aircraft currently flying on a lease contract with Mexican operator Aeromexico Connect.
An MoU to this effect has been signed with a US-based aircraft leasing company, Infinity Aviation Capital LLC, and after this deal has been completed Finnair Aircraft Finance will own only aircraft operated by Finnair or its affiliated company Flybe Finland.
As in the case of Finnair's sale-lease back comprising three Embraer 190 aircraft reported on December 17, the proceeds from the transaction will be used to finance Finnair's fleet investments in the coming years including the 19 Airbus A350 XWB aircraft on orders, with deliveries to start in 2015.
Finnair has also placed three Embraer 170 aircraft with Estonian Air on a lease contract expiring in 2015, but these aircraft are leased, not owned, by Finnair.
