Nov 07, 2014 (newstodate): While little development has been seen as to materializing the plans for start of Boeing 747 passenger and cargo flights by Viking International Airlines in Norway, one solid fact seems to indicate that it will eventually turn from vision to reality.
The fact is that the group behind Viking International Airlines, US-based Global First Response Inc is now close to completing the process of acquiring all shares in a new company, Northcape Turnaroundport AS set up earlier in 2014 to provide handling of cruise ships in Lakselv, in the country's northernmost region.
-I can confirm that Mr Kunkle's Global First Response Inc has signed a MoU to take over the stake in Northcape Turnaroundport AS, and plans are to announce the completion of this deal before the end of 2014, says Per Amundsen, lawyer and Northcape Turnaroundport AS contact person.
Northcape Turnaroundport AS will offer facilities for turning around passengers and crews on cruise ships calling in the region, including flight connections by Viking International Airlines between Norway and the USA.
According to information provided earlier to newstodate, Avinor expects new moves after the turn of this year to start construction of a new cargo terminal at Lakselv Banak Airport as a further stepping stone towards the launch of cargo and passenger flights by Viking Int'l Airlines in 2015.
