Nov 13, 2014 (newstodate): The political and economic crisis in Ukraine is taking a severe toll on the country's aviation industry in 2014.
Compared to budgets for 2014, the passenger traffic in the country is down by 30-35 percent, not least due to the suspension of services to the regions of the Crimea, Lugansk and Donetsk.
The declining purchase power among Ukrainian citizens and industry are also reducing the demand for air travel, and Kiev Borispol Airport has seen a drop in passenger volumes by 12 percent, y-o-y, during the first 10 months of 2014, to 5,894,100 passengers.
