Ukraine was was downgraded from Category I to Category II by FAA in 2005, prohibiting the country's airlines to fly on new routes with aircraft registered in Ukraine.
Ukraine International Airlines launched flights on its route between Kiev and New York on April 25, 2014, offering daily services, but hopes are to access also to new destinations in the USA including Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, and Miami.
