Nov 21, 2014 (newstodate): In November, Norway's Directorate for Civil Protection, DSB, lent a helping hand to efforts in the war on Ebola in Africa.
DSB contracted DB Schenker Norway to manage the operation including the handling of two Boeing 747-400F freighter aircraft from Air Cargo Global, lifting equipment for an emergency camp in Moyamba, Sierra Leone.
Among the shipments were two 20" sanitary containers, another contained with water and medical equipment, two vehicles, generators and other pertinent equipment.
The shipments were trucked from DSB's central store to Oslo Gardermoen Airport for loading on the two freighters.
DB Schenker Norway cooperated with the DB Schenker German subsidiary Karpeles Flight Services that brokered the chartering of the aircraft.
