Nov 06, 2014 (newstodate): One successful cargo carrier in the Swedish market in 2014 is Thai Airways Cargo.
As one of few carriers in the market, the carrier has seen its cargo volumes up y-o-y in eight out of nine months in 2014, with April as the only exception when volumes dropped 12.23 percent, y-o-y.
In September 2014 alone, Thai Cargo generated 473 tonnes of cargo in Sweden, an increase by 22.13 percent, y-o-y, while the largest y-o-y increase so far in 2014 was seen in July when the volumes grew by 53.77 percent to 502 tonnes in a market that was otherwise down by 7.38 percent.
In January-September 2014, the company has thus generated a total of 3,926 tonnes of cargo in Sweden that has seen its total IATA export cargo volumes down month after month since the start of this year's Q2.
As in the other Scandinavian markets, Thai Airways operates daily Boeing 777 flights at Stockholm Airport, lifting up to 27 tonnes of cargo.
