Nov 19, 2014 (newstodate): Russia's Perm International Airport has cancelled an ongoing tender for design of a new passenger terminal.
Eight Russian companies had purchased the documentation, but after an evaluation of the applicants' proposals the decision was made to cancel the process due to their low quality.
The airport will now revise the tender materials and purchase qualifications and re-start the tender process in 2015.
Plans are to construct a new 25,000 sq m terminal with capacity of handling two mio passengers annually, with expansion to 40,000 sq m in a next phase.
In the existing master plan by Lufthansa Consulting and Fraport AG Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide for development of Perm Bolshoye Savino Airport is an expansion of the current passenger terminal's handling capacity from 200 to 600 passengers per hour, as well as construction of a new cargo terminal.
The joint military-civil airport has one 3,200 m runway, and is served by airlines including Aeroflot, UTAir and Lufthansa.
