Nov 21, 2014 (newstodate): Qatar Airways is to intensify its services between Doha and two Scandinavian markets from summer 2015.
Starting from March 29, 2015, the carrier will offer 11 weekly flights on the route to Copenhagen, and from March 30, 2015, services to Stockholm will increase to 10 weekly rotations from Doha.
Qatar is currently offering seven rotations on the routes to Copenhagen and Stockholm, all flights with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft since September 1, 2013.
Qatar Airways first entered Scandinavia with a route between Doha and Stockholm, Sweden, launched on November 27, 2007, adding the route between Doha and Copenhagen, Denmark, from March 30, 2010, and finally launching flights from Doha to Oslo, Norway, from October 5, 2011.
So far the carrier has not aired intentions of increasing the frequency on flights to Norway, and plans for start of services to Helsinki, Finland, have still not materialized.
Starting from October 1, 2014, Doha-based Qatar Airways Cargo has also been serving Norway with Boeing 777F freighter flights at Oslo Gardermoen Airport, currently operated two times weekly, adding a weekly Airbus A330-200F freighter service connecting Stavanger and Doha from November 3, 2014.
