Nov 20, 2014 (newstodate): Preliminary cargo statistics from Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport indicate a decrease in volumes by 10.3 percent, y-o-y, in October 2014.
A total of 9,480 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport against 10.565 tonnes in October 2013.
International cargo was down even more, 12.9 percent to 7,143 tonnes while domestic cargo fell 31.2 percent to 667 tonnes.
Domestic airmail was up 12.5 percent, y-o-y, to 1,844 tonnes, while international airmail dropped 14.7 percent to 520 tonnes.
If figures hold, the implication is that more and more of Norway's booming airfreight exports leave the country by road feeder services to airport hubs on the Continent.
