Nov 14, 2014 (newstodate): International cargo volumes are not exactly booming at Finland's Helsinki Vanta Airport in 2014.
A total of 147,037 tonnes of international cargo was handled during January-October 2014, a decline by 2.4 percent, y-o-y, and domestic cargo volumes were down 9.9 percent, y-o-y, to 931 tonnes.
In the same period, international mail volumes handled were however up 41.9 percent, y-o-y, to 8,367 tonnes.
All included, mail and cargo volumes, international and domestic, thus dropped 0.8 percent, y-o-y, to 157,585 tonnes.
October 2014 itself brought little relief, with a decline by 3.4 percent in international cargo, to 14,888 tonnes, while the total volumes of all cargo and mail handled was down three percent to 16,020 tonnes.
