Nov 06, 2014 (newstodate): A new business aviation complex will open in February 2015 at Latvia's Riga Airport.
The complex will thus be able to cater to the expected rise in business jet traffic to and from Latvia in connection to the country's new term of EU Presidency in the first half of the year.
The complex will comprise a 12,000 sq m terminal area, and a 8,400 sq m heated hangar area capable of housing nine Bombardier or Gulfstream business jets or up to five Boeing or Airbus Corporate jets aircraft.
The complex will also 1,700 sq m of technical area for maintenance and repair.
Opening the first purpose-built business aviation hangar in the Baltic States and Scandinavia, FBO Riga - part of the privately owned Latvian company Flight Consulting Group - launched business in 2000 and is now serving 85 percent of all business aircraft operations at the airport.
