Nov 19, 2014 (newstodate): Given the traditional competition between airlines in the Baltic region, news of coordinated flights by Latvia's airBaltic and Lithuania's Air Lituanica catch attention.
The two carriers will cooperate on flights between Vilnius and Amsterdam with airBaltic to operate three, and Air Lithuania five weekly flights.
Ticket sales will be performed through the sales venues of both carriers, but the cooperation is only technical - no code-share agreement is involved.
airBaltic is code-sharing the flights with KLM, offering passengers seamless transfer to flights ex-Amsterdam on KLM's global network.
airBaltic's flights from Vilnius to Amsterdam were launched on October 30, 2014, while Air Lituanica started serving the route on July 8, 2013.
