Nov 10, 2014 (newstodate): Emirates SkyCargo is now online with a freighter service between Dubai and Hungary.
The service is operated with an Airbus A330-200F calling at Budapest Airport once weekly, offering 168 tonnes of cargo capacity.
On its first flight into the country, Emirates SkyCargo mainly carried consolidated cargo from the Far East and points in India, including a shipment of pharmaceuticals from Hyderabad.
The prime exports from Hungary are primarily machinery spare parts, hi-tech equipment and electronics and spare parts for land vehicles, comprising some 70 percent of the exports. The remaining 30% are divided among industrial consumables, such as manufactured pipes, semi-manufactured steel and water/air pumps, food and beverage, generators and chemical products.
The country's imports are dominated by semi-conductors, telecommunication devices and components and audio and video products, making up more than 70 percent of the import market.
Emirates still has to climb unto the IATA export cargo statistics for Hungary that showed a drop by 4.26 percent in September 2014, to 2,132 tonnes, with Lufthansa Cargo #1 with 34.34 percent of the market, followed by KLM Cargo holding 29.82 percent.
