Nov 17, 2014 (newstodate): Russia's 7th largest international airport, Krasnodar International Airport is currently amid a comprehensive reconstruction process.
The airport will have one of its three runways extended to 3,000 m, a new taxiway system is to be developed to increase the capacity of the airport, and the entire airfield system is to be upgraded.
Part of the Basel Aero airport managing holding, the airport will also have a new apron area dedicated to de-icing, and other pertinent infrastructure is to be upgraded as well.
After the completion of the projects, the airport will be certified to ICAO II standards, allowing it to handling of most of the existing commercial aircraft types.
