Nov 12, 2014 (newstodate): Cargo volumes through Latvia's Riga Airport are indeed back to normal after the gradual winding-down of the ISAF traffic that started by early 2012.
In October 2014, the airport handled a total of 2,194 tonnes of cargo, a drop by 71.9 percent, y-o-y.
Included in the totals were 1,461 tonnes of cargo and 733 tonnes of mail.
In the first 10 months of this year, the airport has been handling 28,991 tonnes of cargo and mail, a decrease by 38.4 percent, y-o-y.
In 2011, prior to the ISAF traffic at the airport, volumes of cargo and mail at Riga were 12,664 tonnes, growing to a total of 32,953 tonnes in 2012 and to 53,539 in 2013.
