The 60 bio Tenge project will be realized in time for receiving visitors to the EXPO-2017, held in Astana.
Among the items comprised by the project is the construction of a new 40,000 sq m passenger terminal, as well as upgrading of power and communications facilities, external networks, upgrading of airfield lighting equipment and MET equipment.
The project also includes a renovation of the airport's 3,500 m runway as well as the apron area.
With the new terminal and other facilities, the airport will raise its annual passenger handling capacity from today's three to seven mio.
