Nov 10, 2014 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic has now confirmed the opening of sales on a new route in 2015 between Riga and its third destination in Denmark.
Starting from April 18, 2015, the carrier will offer a weekly flights from Riga to Aalborg on Saturdays and a weekly return flight from Aalborg to Riga on Sundays with a Boeing 737-300 aircraft.
The carrier has been contracted by the Danish tour operator SunCharter to fly tourists from Aalborg Airport, in Northern Denmark, to Crete and Rhodos, enabling the carrier to offer the weekly commercial flights between Riga and Aalborg rather than ferrying the aircraft empty to and from Aalborg.
airBaltic is already serving Billund, another destination in western Denmark's Jutland, and Copenhagen.
