Oct 02, 2014 (newstodate): The Swiss-based CHEP Aerospace Solutions has landed another significant customers among Asian carriers.
Singapore Airlines Cargo has contracted CHEP to maintain and repair its entire fleet of ULDs worldwide under an exclusive five-year agreement.
In addition to Singapore Airlines Cargo's global fleet of more than 16,000 containers and pallets used by SIA parent company and SIA Cargo, CHEP will also provide repairs for Scoot, Singapore Airlines' fully-owned subsidiary operating medium- and long-haul low-cost flights.
Repairs will be carried out across CHEP's extensive global network, including stations in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific.
CHEP Aerospace Solutions will also be expanding its operations in Singapore to support this new business.
Launched in November 2011, CHEP Aerospace Solutions combines the resources of Unitpool, JMI Aerospace and Driessen Services.
CHEP Aerospace Solutions is the world's largest independent network consisting of more than 300 served airports, 42 certified repair centers and 14 regional offices worldwide.
Among CHEP's acquisitions in 2012, the company took over the Norwegian ULD manufacturer Nordisk Aviation Products' ULD services site at Copenhagen Airport, providing capacity to repair up to 12,000 ULDs each year, in addition to thousands of galley carts.
