Oct 31, 2014 (newstodate): Seen over a 12-month running period, there is no doubt which freight forwarding company is ruling in the Swedish IATA export cargo market: DHL Global Forwarding.
During October 2013- September 2014 the company generated a total of 24,274 tonnes of export freight in Sweden, but did lose 7.45 percent, y-o-y.
#2, Geodis Wilson was also down by 9.24 percent, to 20,008 tonnes, while #3, Schenker AB grew volumes by 33.75 percent, y-o-y, to 8,795 tonnes.
The Top-3 companies thus held 23.62, 19.47 and 8.56 percent of the Swedish IATA export airfreight market, respectively.
Looking at September 2014 alone, the picture is slightly different, with DHL Global Forwarding still at the top with 2,742 tonnes of export cargo, up 31.81 percent, y-o-y, followed by Geodis Wilson with 1,411 tonnes but down 24.12 percent.
The position as #3 in September 2014 was snatched by UPS SCS SWEDEN AB that lifted 650 tonnes and increased by no less than 269.63 percent!
Schenker AB was thus squeezed down to the position as #4 with 627 tonnes, a drop by 13.61 percent, y-o-y.
In September 2014 the Top-3 companies thus held 30.89, 15.89 and 7.33 percent of the Swedish IATA export airfreight market, respectively.
The total Swedish IATA export cargo market increased slightly by 0.88 percent, y-o-y, during October 2013-September 2014 to 102,768 tonnes, while shrinking 3.98 percent in September 2014, to 8.876 tonnes.
