Oct 13, 2014 (newstodate): As planned, Primera Air Nordic is now in the air from its Latvian base.
Primera Air Nordic has been set up as a subsidiary by its Scandinavian mother company Primera Air to benefit from the lower cost base in the Latvian.
For a start, one Boeing 737-800 has been allocated to the new carrier, based at Riga Airport from where it has now commenced flights for tour operators.
Primera Air has also moved its Network Control Center formerly based at Iceland to Latvia for the same reasons.
Prime Air's CEO, Hrafn Thorgeirsson is also CEO of the new Latvian subsidiary.
