Oct 14, 2014 (newstodate): The fate of a crucial route over the Barents Sea connecting Russia and Norway is in the balance.
Over the years, the route has been operated by various Russian airlines, last by Pskovavia with an AN-24 aircraft on behalf of Nordavia.
Now the Norwegian aviation authority has revoked license for Pskovavia on the route, noting that it actually belongs to Nordavia for which Pskovavia has operated the route.
The route between Murmansk and Tromso has so far been operated twice weekly.
Pskovavia is now seeking the license from the Norwegian authorities to take over the license from October 24, 2014, that is the end of Nordavia's operation.
