Oct 14, 2014 (newstodate): Pending approval by the Russian aviation authorities, an Austrian low-cost carrier may become the first to offer triangular flights covering Russia.
Austria's Niki has been approved by the Austrian authorities to perform flights on a routing Vienna-Moscow-St Petersburg-Vienna with the Russian party's preliminary approval as well.
Cabotage will, whoever, be prohibited, so Niki will not be able to load passengers or cargo at Moscow for the continued flight to next destinations.
But even so, Niki may become the first western low-cost carrier to offer intra-Russian flights.
