Oct 17, 2014 (newstodate): The new all-freighter service by Qatar Airways Cargo in the Norwegian market will start from November 3, 2014.
The carrier will be offering one weekly Airbus A330-200F operation coming in from Brussels to Stavanger and continuing to Doha on Mondays.
Since October 5, 2011, the carrier has been on-line at Oslo Gardermoen Airport to Doha with freighter services running up to four weekly flights while currently reduced to three weekly flights.
-This project has long been on the drawing board and we are excited now to be close to launch of services, says Carl Christian Skage, NordicGSA Country and Sales Manager Norway.
-We are convinced that there is a market in this part of Norway, with Stavanger as a key region for Norway's oil and gas companies, other industries and of course exporters of seafood. All these segments are to be targeted by this new operation.
-As for the seafood exports, Monday is not admittedly not the best solution but we cross our fingers anyway, and hopes are of course that the new operation at Stavanger may grow to two weekly flights at a later stage, says Mr Skage.
