Oct 01, 2014 (newstodate): The Lithuanian charter and ACMI Small Planet Airlines has cast its eyes on the Asian market.
The carrier has landed a contract with the Cambodian airline Skywings Asia Airlines, allocating two Airbus A320 Aircraft to passenger flights between Siem Reap, Cambodia, and cities in China and South Korea.
Flight operations will start already in November 2014 and continue until the end of March 2015.
-We have a busy schedule carrying passengers to popular European tourist resorts during the summer season, but by the end of the season the intensity of flight operations in Europe decreases, says Vytautas Kaikaris, Small Planet Airlines CEO.
-However, Small Planet Airlines has developed a strategy to outweigh the seasonal imbalance of the business by shifting winter activities to regions characterized by the reverse seasonality.
Last winter, Small Planet Airlines operated a service with Bhutan Airlines carrying passengers from Bangkok in Thailand to Paro in Bhutan as the company's first attempt to establish itself in the Asian market.
In the coming weeks, Small Planet Airlines expects to report further about its plans for the Asian market.
With Polish and Lithuanian AOCs, Small Planet Airlines operates a fleet of 11 aircraft in the markets of the Great Britain, Poland, Lithuania and Italy.
