Oct 01, 2014 (newstodate): Russian carriers have seen little growth in cargo volumes during January-August 2014.
Together, the country's 35 carriers accounted for in the cargo statistics saw volumes up only 3.5 percent, y-o-y, during the period, totaling 641,983 tonnes of cargo.
The top-5 carriers performed slightly better, with volumes up 4.3 percent, y-o-y, to 515,306 tonnes, thereby increasing their joint share from 76.6 to 78.7 percent.
Of these top-runners, ABC increased volumes by 22.5 percent, y-o-y, Aeroflot slipped by 25.6 percent, Transaero increased by 3.7 percent, Volga-Dnepr dropped 31.8 percent, while S7 Sibir was up 4.9 percent, y-o-y.
#9 on the list came Atran Cargo Airlines that saw its volumes up by 211.2 percent, y-o-y, since October 2011 owned by Russia's Volga-Dnepr Group providing the company with capability to feed and distribute airfreight on the domestic network connected to the larger freighter hubs.
