Oct 28, 2014 (newstodate): The latest statistics on September 2014 from IATA on the progress in implementation of the e-AWB has one Nordic market in the lead.
-Finland emerged as the fastest grower as to e-AWB, up by 6.5 percent in September alone - and reaching 14.6 percent of all AWBs issued in the market going electronically after only six weeks, says Ulla Nilsson, IATA Nordic Manager Campaigns.
-Sweden was rated third in growth on the global scale, with an increase in September by 2.9 percent and reaching an over-all penetration rate of 6.3 percent.
-Denmark is also progressing, and plans are now on the table for implementing the e-AWB in the Baltic markets as well, with a meeting in November to ascertain how to design the process and to see if the Nordic approach may be copied here as well, says Ms Nilsson.
