Oct 09, 2014 (newstodate): Icelandic ACMI-provider Air Atlanta Icelandic has again expanded its fleet of Boeing 747 freighters.
The company has taken delivery of its seventh Boeing 747-400F aircraft, leased from GECAS, based on a new contract with its lead customer, Saudia Cargo that also operates the other six aircraft.
In August 2010, Air Atlanta Icelandic signed a maintenance contract with Saudi Arabia's Alsalam Aircraft Co to perform light and heavy maintenance on Air Atlanta's Boeing 747 fleet at the facilities in Ryadh.
Air Atlanta Icelandic signed its first agreement with Alsalam Aircraft CVO in 2008 and has since had several aircraft in for A and C checks.
Air Atlanta Icelandic took in its first two Boeing 747-400 freighter in 2004, becoming the first operator of this type in the Nordic region.
