Oct 16, 2014 (newstodate): Budapest Airport is to see the return of Transatlantic flights from 2015.
Starting from June 18, 2015, the Canadian carrier Air Transat will offer direct flights between Budapest and Toronto, with an en-route stop at Montreal.
Air Transat will be operating an Airbus A330 on the new route.
Until its demise in early 2012, the Hungarian carrier Malev operated flights between Budapest and Toronto as well as New York, and since then the airport has been disconnected from the Americas.
American Airlines and Delta Air Lines also operated North Atlantic services until 2011.
Air Transat will become the second wide-body operator at Budapest Airport, following on the inauguration by October 27, 2014, of Emirates' new route from Dubai.
