Oct 07, 2014 (newstodate): In September 2014, Finnair saw its cargo volumes down by 3.2 percent, y-o-y, to 12,714 tonnes.
The decline was due to the drop in own freighter and purchased traffic, including cargo on JAL's flights, where volumes were down by 14.3 percent to 2,479 tonnes.
On the scheduled passenger flights, volumes in September were unchanged against last year, totaling 10,235 tonnes, thanks to a modest one percent increase in the Asian traffic, 7,394 tonnes, while both the European and the North Atlantic traffic dropped by 3.3 and 1.6 percent, respectively.
In the first nine months of 2014 the carrier thus aggregated 112,410 tonnes of cargo, an increase by 3.4 percent, with the Asian volumes, 61,177 tonnes, rising only 1.2 percent, y-o-y.
