Oct 29, 2014 (newstodate): As expected, the message from this morning's Ryanair press conference at Copenhagen is: yes, the Irish low-cost carrier is to offer flights from Copenhagen Airport.
Starting from next year's summer schedule by the end of March 2015, the carrier will offer flights to three destinations including London, Warsaw and Milan, with a further 10 to be announced in 2015.
From the start, Ryanair will operate 28 flights per week at Copenhagen Airport, increasing to over 100 later in the year
Copenhagen Airport will become Ryanair's 40th base from March 2015 with up to four Boeing 737-800 aircraft stationed to serve the coming route network, with one aircraft from March and three more to follow later in 2015.
Ryanair expects to transport more than one million passengers on the new routes.
At the same time, Ryanair will cease operations at Malmo Sturup Airport, close to Copenhagen on the other side of the narrow Oeresund Strait.
