Oct 08, 2014 (newstodate): Plans are underway for the CIS region to set up its own interstate aeronautical service, a pendant to Eurocontrol.
If realized, the new Air Navigation East will comprise the control of air traffic flows through CIS member states' air space on flights between Europe and Asia.
The new organization will be supported by Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The new set up will be based on the standards of ICAO.
