Oct 06, 2014 (newstodate): Cargo statistics from Oslo Gardermoen Airport are not reflecting the steep increase in the country's seafood cargo volumes.
The airport has now presented its statistics for August 2014 showing a decline in volumes handled by 1.3 percent, y-o-y, to 9,902 tonnes.
Comprised by the totals are international shipments that rose only modestly by 1.2 percent, y-o-y, to 7,498 tonnes.
For the first eight months of this year, the airport has thus handled a total of 76,447 tonnes of cargo, unchanged against last year, including 68,843 tonnes of international cargo, up 4.1 percent, y-o-y.
Despite the increase in freighter capacity at Oslo Gardermoen Airport, most of the country's booking seafood exports are thus trucked out of the country for uplift from continental airports.
