Oct 16, 2014 (newstodate): For the first time in 2014, Finnair Cargo in August snatched the top position among IATA carriers in the Norwegian market.
The carrier aggregated a total of 1,736 tonnes of cargo, another all-year high and presumably consisting mainly of seafood shipments, growing volumes by 25.56 percent, y-o-y.
Hot on its heels was KLM Cargo with 1,593 tonnes - up no less than 110.92 percent, followed by #3, Qatar Airways Cargo with 1,457 tonnes, but down 24.94, y-o-y.
Korean Cargo came fourth with 1,005 tonnes, up 20.32 percent, followed by Asiana with 968 tonnes.
#7, Thai Cargo also managed to grow volumes by 41.06 percent to 770 tonnes, while #8, SAS Cargo lost 9.62 percent to 599 tonnes.
Dropping the most in August 2014 was #9, Lufthansa Cargo, down 27.55 percent to 342 tonnes, and China Cargo Airlines closed the Top-10 list after growing 7.7 percent, y-o-y, to 311 tonnes.
The total IATA export cargo market was up 31.76 percent, y-o-y in August 2014, to 9,845 tonnes.
