Oct 03, 2014 (newstodate): The Airbus A350 XWB received its type certification from EASA last week and is now readying for entry into service with its first customer, Qatar Airways before the end of this quarter.
Qatar Airways has placed orders for a total of 80 aircraft of this type.
At the same time, the first aircraft to be delivered to its second operator - and first in Asia: Vietnam Airlines - is now also in the final assembly line at Toulouse, with delivery of the first of 10 aircraft by mid-2015.
So far, the new aircraft has landed 750 orders from 39 customers around the world, including eight for SAS and 11 for Finnair.
