Oct 27, 2014 (newstodate): Russia's top-5 cargo carriers grew their joint share in the country's air cargo industry further in January-September 2014.
Together, AirBridgeCargo, Aeroflot, Transaero, Volga-Dnepr and S7 Sibir Airlines accounted for 78.5 percent of all cargo on Russian carriers in January-September 2014, against 76.5 percent in 2013.
The Top-5 carriers thus lifted a total of 585,150 tonnes of cargo during the period against 558,455 tonnes in 2013.
ABC continued its strong growth curve, up 20.9 percent, y-o-y, to 375,787 tonnes, Aeroflot was down 23.2 percent due to the abolition of cargo flights, to 101,606 tonnes, Transaero was up 3.2 percent to 49,199 tonnes, Volga-Dnepr was down 29.3 percent to 29,430 tonnes, and S7 was up 4.3 percent to 27,129 tonnes.
In total 35 Russian carriers transported a total of 728,850 tonnes of cargo in January-September 2014, which was a slight increase by 3.8 percent, y-o-y.
