The airport handled a total of 8,255 tonnes of cargo during the year, but the growth was primarily due to a significant rise during the last four months of the year, totaling 3,752 tonnes - an increase by 75.6 percent, y-o-y.
Among the factors contributing to the strong increase in cargo volumes through the latter part of 2013 was a series of cargo charter flights by Turkish Airlines with shipments destined for the Russian market.
