Jan 21, 2014 (newstodate): Besides Latvia's airBaltic, the Swedish regional carrier Malm Aviation will also have to wait unexpectedly longer for delivery of new Bombardier aircraft.
In 2011 Braathens Leasing placed a firm order for 10 Bombardier CSeries aircraft to Malm Aviation and options on an additional 10 aircraft, with deliveries to start in 2014.
With the latest announcement from Bombardier, the program is running slow in test flights and the manufacturer expects deliveries of the new aircraft to be delayed by some nine months, now slated to start by late 2015 only.
The 110-seat CS100 aircraft was originally scheduled to enter revenue service in 2013, followed by the 130-seat CS300 aircraft in 2014.
Malm Aviation is currently operating a fleet of 11 Avro RJ85 and RJ100 aircraft.
